An after school program at your karate studio can boost your business if you can get the word out about it. One way to do this is to use vinyl banners in a way that attracts attention to get people in your door. Below are some tips on designing a banner that looks great and can increase your marketing strategies.

Find Out the Zoning Restrictions

Before you start choosing a vinyl banner, find out the zoning restrictions in your area. You also may need to sign a permit before you put up the banner. Your city may restrict the size of the banner. Some cities have restrictions on how much information you can put on the banner. Check with your local zoning office before you start spending money on the banner. If you do not, they would likely make you take the banner down.

Make Sure the Banner Is the Right Size

The size of your banner depends on where you are going to hang it. For example, if you are going to hang it across the front of your school building it needs to be big enough to reach across the front. If it will be sitting outside your school, it could be smaller.  Standard banner sizes are 2' x 4', 3' x 6' and 4' x 8'. You can order a custom banner if you want it bigger or smaller from your banner company.  If you are setting the banner on poles, make sure it does not obscure your building at all. You can put it high enough so it does not do this.

Create the Design

Once you determine the right size, you need to think about the design of your banner. Because you have a karate school, you can put some photographs, such as famous karate people or pictures of the students. Consider a color scheme that goes with the school colors if most of the kids are coming from one school. If not, choose bold colors, such as purple, black, red, or blue. Make sure you leave enough room to put the hours you are open and the type of classes you offer.

Make the background white and the letters colored so it is easy to read. You also need to make sure you use the correct font.

Choose the Right Finish

When you choose your design, you have to choose a finish for your vinyl banner. Because your banner is likely outside, use thicker vinyl. Also, make sure the edges have a durable stitching so they can hold up well to weather elements.
